Time To Take Action!

I love to sew.  I could do it all day, everyday.  Watching a flat piece of fabric develop into a functional garment that I can be proud to wear gives me great joy.  But as much as I love to sew, I sometimes find myself stressing over a sewing project for fear that it won't fit or it will end up a wadder (you know-- when you ball it up and toss it because there is no saving it?).  All of this for what? Because of the fear of failure.

Well you know what?  Life is too short and its time to take action!  No more over thinking a project to the point of paralysis.  No more avoiding that pattern because in the past I haven't been able to set in that sleeve properly, or alter that pattern to fit.  No more hiding!  From this point forward, I will enjoy the process, even if the end product doesn't turn out the way I want.  I will celebrate my "failures" knowing that if I learn from them, they are not failures at all but opportunities to learn and to become better at my craft.

The Quest For Well-Fitting Pants

I've had Burda 7244 in my pattern stash for a few years and now it's time to take action.  I plan to share each step of my journey.  I am hoping to achieve a perfectly fitted TNT pattern for pants but even if I don't, I am going to enjoy the learning process.

The main pattern pieces have been cut out in the size I need according to my measurements. Several sources I have checked have stressed the importance of adjusting the crotch depth before attempting any of the other necessary alterations.  So the next step will be to accurately measure my crotch depth and compare it to the pattern crotch depth measurement.

Do you stress over your sewing projects? Is there a particular pattern you are afraid to tackle for fear that you will not be successful?  Please leave a comment below. Perhaps we can encourage each other.

Until next time...Sew something you love!
